I have had many good birthday dinners at restaurants, but this excursion to Good to Eat was probably the best one yet.
Located at 65th Street and Hollis in the peaceful town of Emeryville, the place thrilled me with its lovely, vivid sea themed mural as its exterior. It has a simple, modern art deco-like white colored interior. It’s a casual dining experience with its fair, mid-priced food options.
I ordered the “Fu Ru Fried Chicken Thighs” as the entree. It was nice and crispy on the edges, it had pleasant looking pepper seasoning and once I took a bite, it had a crisp, tasty and juicy crunch. The flavor melts like butter on the tongue. Yum!
As for the service, very hospitable waters were on the job. They would ask with empathy what we would like to order, told me to take my time and said dessert was “on the house” because it was my birthday~it was such a nice gesture that I tipped them extra.
With such hospitality, there was only one hiccup in service. When ordering a drink, the waiter accidentally served me a ginger ale instead of a root beer, but hey, it happens. Despite that, the service overall was efficient and pleasant, so I couldn’t be bothered by one error.
My lips were curled up with a smile, and a warm heart for the majority of this experience. I will return, hungry for more, hopefully next time they don’t mess up the drink order!
