Grid drawing is a time honored tradition used by artists to enlarge an image, often from a one inch grid to a two inch grid, or even larger. Grid drawing focuses on drawing one square at a time, carefully observing shapes, lines, and values within that small section. This helps the artist to break the image into manageable pieces and improves accuracy. When the drawing is complete, the artist erases the grid lines to reveal a clean, detailed animal portrait.
