Taylor Swift is one of the biggest singers in the world, and her 2020 album “Folklore” showed a whole new side of her. Instead of her making pop hits, she experimented with an indie-folk sound, and was showing her incredible songwriting, and it works so well. The album slaps because it feels like a bunch of mini stories that you can get lost into: “Cardigan” is very dreamy and emotional, “August” captured the bittersweet ache of summer love, and “This is Me Trying” is vulnerable and honest. Folklore proves that can reinvent herself while still showing off her incurable songwriting and storytelling.
